Netflix Delivers First Holiday Movie of 2024 - Already #1

Need a new comfort watch? Netflix has just dropped the first new release of the 2024 holiday movie "Slate" and it's straight into No. 1.

Rusty Cundieff's "Meet Me Next Christmas" is the first of several distinctive new holiday flicks to appear on Netflix. In other words, it's the first of many kinds of fluffy, flimsy fairy tales that many of us should be streaming at this time of year.

Obviously, a lot of Netflix subscribers wanted to do exactly that this week because the holiday romcom stole the no. 1/6 In the Netflix top 10 of the 24 hours of the streamer's time-travel movie "Time Cut," which was released on May 1.

Are you ready to get into the holiday spirit early? Here are some more information about "Meet next Christmas", and a small sample of what critics said

As we mentioned, "Meet next Christmas" is a holiday romcom. The film introduces us to Leila (Christina Milian), James (Kofi Siriboe), a woman who is on track for a fairy-tale romance with the man of her dreams.

The pair are scheduled to reconnect at the Pentatonics Christmas Eve Concert... Sold out Pentatonics Christmas Eve concert. A professional concierge, Teddy (Devale Ellis): Leila was accompanied by an unexpected ally to her race across New York City, securing tickets by any means necessary.

In addition, the "Meet Me Next Christmas" cast includes Tymika Tafari, Kalen Allen, Nikki Duval, Wesley French, Brendan Morgan and, of course, the "Meet Me Next Christmas" cast. Pentatonix members include: Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee

While the film has not yet earned a critical score on the review aggregation site, Rotten Tomatoes is still getting some critical attention.You might expect.

If you frequently Netflix—or, frankly, one of the best streaming services around the holidays—you've seen this kind of movie before, and I'm sure you know what you're already doing for. Yes, "Let's meet next Christmas" is summed up as bright, bright, refreshing, cheesy and unforgettable holiday fun.

Benjamin Lee of The Guardian rated it as 3/5, calling it "completely competent" and "viewed uncomfortably," adding, "This is not a movie that anyone would consider returning to next Christmas, but it will be so for now."

Screenwriter Ben Gibbons, on the other hand, gave "Meet Me Next Christmas" an average 5/10 rating, saying that "Meet Me Next Christmas" is a banal Christmas movie following typical metaphors, but the musical elements and central characters make it a delightful watch nonetheless.

Rap's William Viviani reflected a similar sentiment; Despite saying that the main plot does not work, he writes: "A little bit of this kind of reassuring fluff is a long way off. And there's certainly a little bit of it".
