Apple's Glowtime event on September 9 is important in that the next iPhone, the iPhone 16, will be announced to the world But while these devices may get the most attention, they are likely not the only things Apple has to announce And according to one leaker, we may have to add two more things to the list

X-leaker Kosutami claims that the AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 3 will be announced “soon” It is not clear how soon they will be announced, but the Glowtime event is the most likely place; given that the Apple Watch 10, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and possibly the AirPods Max 2 and iPad Mini 7 will also be announced, Glowtime s agenda is likely to be quite packed

Kotsuta did not go into too many details about Apple's new earbuds, other than the fact that the AirPods Pro 3 will offer improved noise canceling capabilities So how much attention the new buds get at Glowtime may depend on how much of an upgrade they actually get Iterative upgrades like sound quality and battery life are great, but not as exciting as spending a lot of time in a major product showcase

This is not the first time we've heard that new AirPods might be announced at Glowtime; Mark Gurman claims that new AirPods will be unveiled at Apple's annual September event Gurman reports that Apple has announced the standard two sets of AirPods 4, an entry-level option to replace the AirPods 2 and a more substantial upgrade to replace the AirPods 3 in 2021

However, previous rumors suggest that the AirPods Pro 3 may not appear until sometime next year Given that we have not heard much about these buds so far, it makes sense that the development cycle may not be that advanced However, we can't be completely sure until Tim Cook and other Apple executives begin making announcements on September 9

One can only hope that the AirPodsMax will finally do its part Because those headphones are approaching their fourth birthday with no sign of a successor If Apple has plans to continue with over-ear headphones, it's about time they launched something new, with all the advances they've made in the last few years
