Prime Video is about to change significantly with several enhancements in a complete redesign that will not only streamline content curation, but also make it easier to access all streaming services
The biggest change is a content-forward navigation bar that makes it much easier to find the right content at the right time These vertical navigation bars will show other streaming services to which you are subscribed, such as Starz, MGM Plus, Paramount Plus, and Max
Prime Video also offers improved recommendations along with more clearly labeled Prime Video content, making it easier to find the right shows and movies Amazon is leveraging its best AI tools to provide a clearer overview of shows and movies across Prime Video banners
The new experience will officially roll out globally today on all major devices
Amazon's Prime Video is one of the most beloved streamers thanks to great shows like “The Boys,” “Reacher,” “Fallout,” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” However, it can often be a bit confusing when navigating the multitude of content, as it includes not only Prime Video's own shows and movies, but also those from other streaming operators [But with today's update, Prime Video's content curation has never been more engaging, and Amazon has introduced a simple Prime Video tag for shows and movies that clearly states that they are original, so you know what you are clicking on and find the top 10 shows in the blink of an eye
At the top of the main page is a newly designed navigation bar that includes all major verticals such as “Movies,” “TV Shows,” “Sports,” and “Live TV Beyond that, a new “Subscriptions” list has been added, making it easier to sign up for and search specific content from other streaming services, such as Max and Paramount Plus
Starting today, you will also see more readable summaries of content, as Amazon has adopted several private LLMs to make synopses of movies and TV shows easier to digest In addition, content discovery on Prime should be further enhanced by leveraging Amazon's Bedrock generative AI capabilities to provide more content recommendations and adding more recommendation categories such as “Trending Shows” and “Top 10 in the US”
If that wasn't enough, Prime Video's new redesign also includes optimizations such as zoom effects, smoother page transitions, and new animations to make the content hub more engaging and easier to navigate
As noted above, the new Prime Video experience will roll out globally today on all devices, including older models Amazon also claims that this new redesign is just the beginning, as seamless navigation, best-in-class entertainment, and subscription integration make Prime Video one of the best streaming services available
