Google Pixel Watch 3 Key Specs Leaked from FCC List

The Made by Google event will take place next month, and Google is expected to unveil both the Pixel 9 phone and the new Pixel Watch 3, among other Pixel devices, at the August 13 showcase

So far, most of the leaks and rumors surrounding the event have focused on Google's flagship smartphones, with the Pixel Watch 3 receiving little attention The most prominent rumor surrounding the latest smartwatch from Google suggests that it will be larger in size, most likely 45mm This would bring the company's watch series in line with offerings from rivals Samsung and Apple

New rumors suggest that at least four Pixel Watch 3 versions will drop in August These versions were spotted in FCC testing by Android Police Like Samsung's Galaxy Watch 7 (which will be announced at Galaxy Unpacked this Wednesday, July 10), the Pixel Watch 3 will have two versions with LTE connectivity and two versions that only support Bluetooth and Wi-Fi exist

These four models seem to confirm that Google will release Pixel Watch 3 in 41mm and 45mm sizes with different connectivity capabilities It is unclear from the model names which device is which in this list

Documents filed with the FCC also seem to confirm that all four watches will feature Ultra-wideband support, which the current Pixel Watch lacks; UWB support will allow the watch to unlock car doors and provide new gesture control, and many other new capabilities will be given to the watch, including the ability to unlock car doors, provide new gesture controls, etc

The Pixel Watch 3's support for UWB connectivity was reported by one of 9to5Google's regular APK teardowns However, the code shown in the APK teardown does not necessarily make it into the final product This submission to the FCC is further confirmation that Google's next smartwatch will include this feature

Finally, the FCC listing seems to indicate that the Pixel Watch 3 will support both 5GHz and 24Ghz wi-fi connectivity, which most smartwatches lack The new watch may also be capable of Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, but that is a bit more unclear The documentation also indicates that NFC will also be supported
