Samsung Galaxy Watch X Just Leaked - and it Blows Apple Watch Ultra to Battery Life

The new Samsung smartwatch is getting closer and so far we've heard about the Galaxy Watch7 and the more premium Galaxy Watch7Ultra But new rumors claim that the high-end model could have a different name - the Samsung Galaxy Watch X

It seems that the watch is designed to compete with more durable wearables like the Apple Watch Ultra2, although the site doesn't explain why Samsung would consider changing the name, according to Greek tech site Tech Maniacs So the "Watch X" moniker may be a way to distinguish this watch from other Samsung Galaxy smartwatches

The site claims that the watch is waterproof up to 100 meters and provides up to 100 hours of battery life By comparison, the Apple Watch Ultra2 is rated for 36 hours of battery life during normal use and up to 72 hours in low-power mode So Samsung could have a big advantage

The design is also said to be more "robust", but there are no details on what it entails If your watch is something like the Apple Watch Ultra, you may see more durable materials like titanium and sapphire glass, plus other features suitable for outdoor sports and diving

Past Galaxy Watch Ultra features also claim that the watch could have a larger display, a micro LED panel, blood sugar monitoring, a larger battery and maybe support for sleep apnea Besides, the new Exynos W940 processor is rumored to offer 50% efficiency and 30% performance speed improvements compared to the older models It all makes sense, and it's no surprise that Samsung is developing something comparable to the Apple Watch Ultra2 But it doesn't make much sense to call Watch7Ultra the Galaxy Watch X, so I'm not very sure about this name

Most people know that X is 10 in Roman numerals and have been used that way in high-tech products for many years, like the iPhone X in 2007 So throwing an X in the name probably means Samsung is going for the X-treme vibe  We also need to remember that the Apple Watch10 is expected to launch later this year, and that Apple may call it the Apple Watch X If you were a Samsung and you needed your watch to have a prominent name, the last thing you want to do is pick the same one as potentially your biggest (and arguably more popular) rival Especially when yours doesn't make much sense in the first place According to rumors, Samsung will host the next Galaxy Unpacked event on 7/10 That's where you're likely to see the next generation of Galaxy Watches, alongside the new foldable watch, and perhaps the Samsung Galaxy Ring Check out our Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra Hub for the latest news and updates
