The rumors were true-Samsung is launching the Samsung Galaxy Ring, a new wearable that will track users' health and fitnessAnnounced at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, the Galaxy Ring has been unveiled with details on price, specs, and release date unknown, but some information is available
According to the rendered image, there are four small contact points inside the Galaxy Ring, which could be skin temperature sensors In addition, there are four raised optical sensors similar to those on the Oura Ring
The Galaxy Ring also appears to be completely circular, while the Oura Ring, by contrast, has slightly flattened areas
Aside from a quick look at the hardware, Samsung also announced a health tracking software overhaul
The new Smart Health experience creates a Vitality Score that takes into account a person's physical and mental readiness This is based on measurements such as sleep, activity, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability, all of which can supposedly be measured by the Galaxy Ring In fact, given what the Oura Ring can do, we would be surprised if the Galaxy Ring does not monitor all of these functions
That is all we know based on what we have learned today; stay tuned for more information on the Galaxy Ring
