Those who know me know that I love a good miniseries (also known as a limited series), whether it's on Hulu or Apple TV Plus, there's something about a story that you can finish in one sitting and still have more depth than you'd get from a movie There's just something about a story that's more profound than what you'd see in a movie When done properly, it is truly art

In fact, a great mini-series, Masters of the Air, just started this week If you're interested, read my review of the first two episodes

But thankfully, Max has an HBO content library full of HBO miniseries Some of them are some of the best limited series ever There are too many to list in this article So even if you didn't scroll through this article to see "Chernobyl," I did, and it's great I just didn't have the space for it

The spiritual successor to THE WIRE, and in the completely objective opinion of this Baltimore native, the best show of all time, this six-part miniseries may be the best limited series of all time We Own This City is based on the true story of the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Unit, one of the most corrupt police forces in US history

Whether or not this is the best miniseries ever made, it is certainly one of the best performances to grace the television screen John Bernthal's performance as Wayne Jenkins, one of the eight Special Task Force members convicted on corruption charges, is outstanding The fact that the film was not even nominated for an award, let alone win an award, is vicious, and if you watch it, you will understand why
