Samsung's Galaxy Ring will make its first public appearance at Mobile World Congress 2024 this week In a blog post over the weekend, Samsung said the smart ring will be "publicly displayed for the first time" at its booth at the Barcelona convention, which opens tomorrow
First teased at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event in January, the upcoming wearable will track users' health and fitness, similar to the Oura Ring
"Samsung will showcase its Intelligent Health lineup at MWC, with more devices offering users an even more personalized and seamless health experience with the transformative power of AI," the company said As part of this portfolio, Galaxy Ring will be presented as a new health form factor that supports smarter, healthier living and simplifies everyday wellness through Samsung Health, a more connected digital wellness platform"

It remains to be seen if there will be a hands-on demonstration of the Galaxy Ring at Samsung's booth However, the press release's phrase "will be open to the public" implies otherwise Samsung may display the Galaxy Ring behind a protective glass box, similar to the original Galaxy Fold that appeared at MWC after it was first announced in 2019
While much remains unknown about what the Galaxy Ring will do, rumors suggest that Samsung will unveil its first ring-shaped wearable health monitor at an Unpacked event later this year; ETNews recently reported that it is expected to be unveiled at a July event in late July, which could also be the official launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6
That same report claims that the Galaxy Ring will come in eight different sizes, will have ECG capabilities, and will be able to "track and measure information related to health and sleep" by monitoring electrical activity in the heart
Currently, the best-selling smart ring on the market is the Oura Ring, which is the main competitor to the Galaxy Ring Rumors suggest that Apple intends to develop its own competing product based on several patents recently obtained by the iPhone maker
