At E3 2021, Square Enix showed off several new games and talked about others that had already been announced While far from being earth-shattering blockbusters, "short but sweet" is how we would describe them
Announced during the showcase were "Guardians of the Galaxy" (which is completely different from another Square Enix title, "Marvel's Avengers") and "Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins" Also announced were details on the next installment of "Life Is Strange" and the fantasy hack-and-slash "Babylon's Fall"
For those who missed it, here is a summary of everything important that Square Enix talked about There were a few mobile news items, but most were perfunctory announcements such as "NieR Reincarnation," "Hitman Sniper Shadows," and "Final Fantasy VII: First Soldier" Final Fantasy XVI was also introduced very briefly
Studio Eidos Montreal's latest title is Guardians of the Galaxy, an action-adventure title in which you lead a band of merry misfits through frenetic combat and companion manipulation
You'll be forced to make decisions in conversations that could have lasting consequences, but you'll enjoy the familiar Guardians dialogue from the comics and movies Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on October 26, 2021
If you are interested in the first six Final Fantasy games, Square Enix is remastering this classic JRPG for the modern age It doesn't have the makeover of Final Fantasy VII, but it will still please fans old and new

Similarly, Legend of Mana will be retouched with a modern look Square Enix did not say much about the game, except that it will be released on June 24, 2021 for PS4, Switch, and PC
Square Enix showed off some of the upcoming content for the Avengers Live service game Coming soon will be the Cosmic Cube, where you will fight the scientist Supreme in a new mission Later this summer, Wasteland Patrol will be available, adding a new patrol mode with random boss fights and rewards for exploration
What really stands out is the upcoming expansion "War for Wakanda," in which you can play as Black Panther There is a trailer for this expansion, which will be offered later this year at no additional cost
Square Enix will soon offer a live service game in Babylon's Fall as well This high-fantasy hack-and-slash dungeon crawler is pretty frantic, but it sure looks pretty After all, it is being developed by PlatinumGames, a company beloved for its insane action combat
Single-player or 4-player co-op to clear dungeons and collect equipment and materials; to be released on PS4, PS5, and PC
A remastered version of the cult favorite Life is Strange will be released I won't say much here, but you can relive these games or experience them for the first time on September 30, 2021
In Life is Strange's latest title, True Colors, you will take on a new adventure as Alex Chen, a psychic empath She will use her empathic abilities to gain insight into people's emotions as she unravels the mystery surrounding her brother's death Set in a small town in the Rocky Mountains, Alex must develop real relationships with the town's residents in order to solve the mystery
Contact with someone allows Alex to connect with their strong emotions This triggers Alex to enter a sort of alternate world based on the other person's emotions This can be dangerous, so be wise
Life Is Strange: True Colors will be released on September 10, 2021
Square Enix's presentation concluded with the reveal of Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins, a hack-and-slash developed by Team Ninja that looks beautiful, with lots of aggressive combat The story leaves much mystery, especially given the game's subtitle Much of the world and lore is likely to jump in when "Strangers of Paradise" is released
A demo for PS5 will be available soon
