The Galaxy S21 is Samsung's best Prime Day phone deal — is it the phone you should get?

The Galaxy S21 is Samsung's best Prime Day phone deal — is it the phone you should get?

If you're in the market for the best Samsung phone at the best price, there's no doubt as to which Prime Day deal should grab your attention during the final hours of Amazon's two-day sales event The Samsung Galaxy S21, normally a $799 phone, dropped to $599 on Amazon

Jump on that deal and you are getting one of the best Android phones available for $200 off its regular price For that price, you get a phone with a 62-inch display that automatically adjusts its refresh rate You also get one of the best camera phones available, especially when it comes to zoom photography, as the 64MP telephoto lens supports 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom These two features impressed us in our review of the Samsung Galaxy S21

A 25% discount on such a phone is quite a bargain But what if the Galaxy S21 is not the phone for you?

No problem - a quick check of our list of Prime Day Best Cell Phone Deals shows that many phones are discounted through the end of Prime Day And some of them happen to be from Samsung, if you're looking to stay with the premier manufacturer of Android devices

There are deals as good as the $599 Galaxy S21, but if you want a phone that meets different criteria here are some other Prime Day options

If a 62-inch display cramps your style, or if you want a phone with even more telephoto capability, look no further than the Galaxy S21 family The Galaxy S21 Ultra features a dynamically adjustable 68-inch screen and a telephoto lens It also features the same high-performance Snapdragon 888 chipset found in the Galaxy S21 And until the end of Prime Day, you can get the Galaxy S21 Ultra for $899, $300 off the regular price

Again, you can also rely on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the first phone outside of Samsung's Galaxy Note lineup to support the S Pen stylus But $899 is still a lot to pay, even at a discount from the four-figure price

Instead, why not go for last year's Galaxy Note 20? You get a larger 67-inch display (though no dynamic refresh rate), and the Note 20 comes with an S Pen (On Prime Day, Amazon is offering the Galaxy S20 Ultra for $749, a $250 discount, but it appears to be out of stock at this time

Even with the discount, the price of the Galaxy S21 is still higher than some people are willing or able to pay for a smartphone If that is the case, try one of Samsung's mid-range phones The Galaxy A42 doesn't have as much processing power as Samsung's flagships, but it does have a 5,000 mAh battery and 5G connectivity, including Verizon's high-speed ultra-wideband-based network It is available for $299, a $100 discount from the regular price of $399

One can also turn to the Galaxy S20 FE, which was introduced last year and includes many of the features found in the S20 flagship model, but at a lower price A $120 Prime Day price cut brings the S20 FE's price to $479 The only reason to be wary of this deal is that its successor, the Galaxy S21 FE, is reportedly in development, and that new model may feature improved specs based on the S21 family Then again, recent reports suggest that the release of the S21 FE may be delayed and that the now discounted Galaxy S20 FE may be a better buy
