Iphone13 Model Hands-on Tips Design Changes

From the various iPhone 13 leaks we have seen so far, no major changes from the iPhone 12 - at least from a design standpoint - are expected

However, a new video from Apple Insider gives us insight into the possible changes to be expected in the new iPhone, using an actual iPhone 12 device and a dummy unit based on the "latest schematics"

The site highlights that Apple may change the design between now and the iPhone 13 launch date, but notes that last year's equivalent piece - with a dummy model sourced from the same location - turned out to be spot-on So while this should be treated with a pinch of salt, you shouldn't be entirely surprised if Tim Cook presented a terminal that looks like this in September

First of all, the dummies are roughly the same size as the current iPhones: the 54-inch iPhone 13 mini, the 61-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and the 67-inch iPhone Pro Max iPhone 12 mini's miserable Given the reported sales figures, the existence of the mini model may come as a surprise Unless, perhaps, it sells brilliantly this time

The dummy front seems to confirm one rumor: the earpiece has been moved to the top of the bezel The rumored basis for this change is to make the notch smaller, but unfortunately we know nothing about this because the dummy has a piece of black glass instead of an actual screen

As can be seen from various comparison photos, the biggest difference between the non-Pro model and the purported model is the new position of the dual camera lenses iPhone 12 and the mini version have the two lenses aligned vertically, but the iPhone 13 dummy case has them on opposite sides of each other, like dots representing "2" on a dice The iPhone 13 dummy case shifts them diagonally from each other, as if they were dots representing the "2" on a dice

Nevertheless, Apple may make some interesting changes from the 61-inch iPhone 13 As can be seen from the image below, not only have the buttons been moved down a bit, but the SIM card tray has a whole new zip code

Perhaps the more significant change is in the iPhone 13 Pro model, where the larger camera array suggests that the technology inside may have been improved

The iPhone 13 Pro camera bump on this dummy unit is significantly larger than its iPhone 12 Pro counterpart, and two of the lenses are larger as well Apple Insider speculates that this could indicate improved ultra-wide-angle performance and enhanced autofocus, but since the top lens remains the same size, it is possible that the telephoto performance improvements are exclusive to the iPhone 13 Pro Max

Speaking of which, the largest iPhone 13 Pro Max dummy is nearly identical to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, but with a slightly larger bump and three slightly larger lenses The site suggests that this could be the new wide-angle camera with a 15 f/15 aperture and an unspecified upgrade in telephoto performance that Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted

Both Pro handsets appear to be slightly thicker than their predecessors, between 05mm and 1mm

These design shifts indicate the kind of iterative changes typically seen in iPhone 'S' years, but it is predicted that Apple will move forward with the iPhone 13 brand name rather than transition to iPhone 12s

However, it is important to remember that the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro devices reportedly have many more changes in store besides design Rumors suggest that there should be a new, faster A15 Bionic chip, improved 5G performance with a new modem, and exciting new camera features such as astrophotography for capturing the night sky and an immersive portrait video mode

Additionally, both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are said to feature 120Hz ProMotion displays, which should stand out from the regular iPhone 13 models
