Samsung Galaxy S22 unofficial rendering will appear — here's your first look

Yesterday, reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks) revealed a rather stunning new design for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

And now the leaker is back with CAD-based renderings of two other rumored members of the Samsung Galaxy S22 family

Importantly, these are not official renderings, and at this stage we have no way of knowing their accuracy Rendered images are regularly released prior to a product's launch, but as we have seen with the Apple Watch 7, they can be off the mark

However, OnLeaks is usually reliable, and there is certainly some truth to these renderings For starters, when compared to the S22 Ultra design, these look fairly orthodox and almost identical to the current Galaxy S21 model

If you had a hard time finding differences, they certainly follow the design language of the previous model, although the camera arrangement appears to be slightly more pronounced

And of course the two models look identical to each other This is not surprising, given that traditionally the Plus versions of Samsung's Galaxy S devices are larger, but otherwise very similar Interestingly, however, Hemmerstoffer claims to have received the Plus rendering as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Pro, not "Plus" This may suggest that there is more to the story than a simple rendering alone

Additionally, there is the actual size of the handset, which we have previously heard will be more compact than their predecessors, reversing the trend of Samsung flagships in recent years

Hemmerstoffer's renderings are consistent with that, with dimensions of 146 x 705 x 76mm for the S22 (down from 1517x712x79mm) and 1574 x 758 x 76mm for the Plus (down from 1615x756x78mm) The screen size is, of course, not clear Of course, the screen size is not explicitly revealed, but the rumored reduction from 62" to 606" and from 67" to 655" certainly sounds plausible

If the S22 does return to a smaller size, it could be a bit of a gamble Not only does it mean less space for the battery and thus, presumably, lower capacity, but even the best small phones don't exactly fly off the shelves iPhone 12 mini is reportedly struggling so much that Apple has stopped production, and iPhone 13 mini is also rumored to be the last smaller version [There will be distinct differences between the devices, as the 606-inch device is not that small and the S22 Ultra will reportedly keep its 681-inch frame The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is actually an alias for the Samsung Galaxy Note 22, spurring the sense that its larger size and supposed S Pen support reflect what was used to differentiate the two product lines in the early to mid-2010s

However, the S Pen is not a product of the S Pen

However, the rendered images do not indicate that a release is imminent, and whatever the recent shape of things, we expect Samsung to announce a new handset in January 2022 The still-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 need a little breathing space, after all
