I just looked at Google Pixel6 on full display — here's what it looks like

The Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro will launch on October 19, and we saw both unannounced smartphones on full display ahead of the official launch event

In the weeks leading up to the Google Pixel 6 event, both versions of the upcoming smartphone were lined up in the window at Google's flagship store in New York City; Tom's Guide reported witnessing the company's clever tease in September, and I finally visited the phones myself I finally got a chance to visit the phone myself

My arrival at the store was almost by accident Walking in between meetings, I looked up to my right and saw the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro enclosed there for passersby like me to see

In the crowded Chelsea neighborhood, people were not lining up to marvel at Google's new devices It's not like the Mona Lisa, but I bet if Apple released the iPhone 13 in a glass cube on Fifth Avenue before the launch, the crowds would be constant

Be that as it may, I appreciated the Pixel 6's unobtrusive display; I even shot TikTok (have you followed Tom's Guide on TikTok yet?

Both upcoming Pixels have a color block design with a horizontal camera array; of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro colors, the Pixel 6 on display is salmon pink and the Pixel 6 Pro is a pale Yellow We would have liked to have seen the Sorta Sage shade on the regular Pixel 6 as well, since this color is currently trending, but we may have been lucky to get a small glimpse of the phone

The rounded edges of this phone look especially attractive on the display It gives the design a softness that makes the Pixel 6 a pleasure to hold Of course, Tom's Guide's cell phone experts will need to touch the new phone to be sure

Similarly, the physical display hides the phone's display, so we can't say anything about brightness, responsiveness, or richness of the view; having used the Android 12 beta, we can only imagine how it will look on the Pixel 6 Still, without seeing the new Google Pixel 6 Tensor chip in action, we can't say what users can expect from the experience

Certainly, it was a pleasant surprise to see the phone ahead of its official launch, but we were eager to get the full picture, not just what we could see behind the glass

Fortunately, it won't be long before we learn all that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have to offer; the Pixel Fall Launch 2021 event will be held on October 19 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET
