Bad news for Samsung? One UI 7 rumor says beta version will only be available for Galaxy S24 series

One leaker claims that Samsung is limiting the devices that can access the One UI 7 beta.

We are currently awaiting the release of Android 15-based One UI 7, which is expected to be released simultaneously with the Galaxy S25. According to Samsung, the new update will include some enhanced AI features for a more intuitive user experience. OneUI 7 will also include a new design that offers more personalization options.

Samsung said in its newsroom that the beta will first roll out for the Galaxy S24 in select markets, including the U.S. and U.K., indicating that it will later be released for other models. However, according to a new social media post, this may not be the case.

A recent post by X user @FamilyTaes claims that the One UI 7 beta will not be available for phones other than the Galaxy S24 series. This means that the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S21 may not have access to the beta. The same goes for the Galaxy A series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, but I would be surprised if any of these expensive folding phones remain.

The post also states when a stable build for the public will be released.

@FamilyTaes states that there will be at most three beta builds of OneUI 7 and that Samsung plans to announce the stable release at Galaxy Unpacked on January 22. A full rollout would then take place in early February. If accurate, this is a strange move for Samsung, especially considering how late the Android 15 release is.

While the rollout may be a bit odd, there is much to be excited about with the new update. So far, we know that the new One UI 7 update will bring some new features as well as a new interface. For example, according to one report, One UI 7 could add a feature very similar to Google's Audio Magic Eraser. Not only that, but the new update will include several improved camera features, including an update to the much-loved Sketch to image feature.

Given that this new leak contradicts Samsung's report, it seems unlikely to be accurate. However, we will have to see what is announced in the coming weeks before Galaxy Unpacked.
