New renderings of the OnePlus Open 2 have been released.

Newly leaked renderings of the OnePlus Open 2 show a slimmer design.

There is no doubt that OnePlus was on to something with the original OnePlus Open. When we reviewed the OnePlus Open, we praised its design, open canvas multitasking options, and more. It was such a good phone that it is still at the top of our Best Folding Phones list. Now, the recent OnePlus Open 2 leak may have revealed the model for the first time.

A new report from Smartprix shares new renderings. At first glance, the OnePlus Open 2 appears to be almost identical in design to the original phone. For example, the OnePlus Open 2 may retain the same circular camera placement, although the camera position has been changed.

The unfolded screen also appears very similar to the previous model. However, this report confirms earlier rumors that the OnePlus Open 2 will be one of the thinnest foldable phones, reaching a thickness of less than 10 mm.

The report also shares some of the OnePlus Open 2's possible specs, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of additional storage. According to the report, the OnePlus Open 2 will feature an 8-inch, 120Hz, 2K LTPO main display. For reference, the OnePlus Open's main display was 7.82 inches and 2K. The size of the outer panel, on the other hand, is said to be 6.4“ instead of the 6.31” of the original model.

So far, rumors about the OnePlus Open 2 have been fairly scarce, with the main leaks focusing on a possible release date. Initially, we had heard that the phone could be released early next year without a quad camera array. However, subsequent leaks indicate that the OnePlus Open 2 may not be released until around July of next year.

So far, there is still no concrete information on when this phone might be released. However, ScreenPrix has stated that the phone may be released in early 2025 in China and in the first quarter globally.
