Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra looks like it should pack a ton of Galaxy AI upgrades, as a leaker named @AssembleDebug at X has Samsung's new flagship camera configuration based on the smartphone's core files He claims to have.

As NotebookCheck first reported, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature the following cameras.

In other words, the main camera is the same 200MP sensor as before, and the 3x and 5x telephoto lenses are also the same as on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The front 12MP selfie camera will also be the same, at least in terms of hardware.

The only notable upgrade to the Galaxy S25 Ultra's camera appears to be a new 50MP ultrawide sensor, which is a notable jump up from the S24 Ultra's 12MP ultrawide. The sensor size also appears to have increased from 1/2.52“ to 1/1.57”. This will likely capture more light.

The S25 Ultra could certainly use some imaging help. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is one of the best camera phones we tested, but it lost to the new iPhone in the iPhone 16 Pro Max vs Galaxy S24 Ultra shootout with over 200 photos taken.

In November, Samsung announced a new telephoto camera technology called ALoP (short for All Lenses on Prism). This technology “enables smartphone users to capture crisp portraits day or night by modifying the structure of the lens and prism, with additional benefits provided by a more compact camera module.” However, it is not certain whether this technology will be ready in time for the launch of the S25 Ultra.

With Samsung Unpacked rumored to take place on January 22, we won't have to wait long to see if the Galaxy S25 Ultra's camera is truly superior, but there are other rumored upgrades worth getting excited about. These include a new rounded design, a potentially larger 6.9-inch display, and Qualcomm's powerful new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is already super expensive, starting at $1,299, so let's just hope the rumored Galaxy S25 price hike doesn't become a reality.
