Google Photos may soon introduce a new feature that will allow users to quickly edit images before sending them. The app already offers the ability to make very basic edits to images before sending them. And while some of the best photo editing apps allow for more detailed editing, it can be confusing and can be another step to work with. Google is hoping to improve how easy it is to edit images with its rumored new “Quick Edit” button.
The news comes from a tip sent to Android Authority from a user named Alex, who claims to have found a new sharing screen in the Google Photos app on his Android device. Supposedly, this new screen, named Quick Edit, appeared when he pressed the share button on a single photo. However, when he pressed the share button on multiple images, the option did not appear.
The quick edit option appears to be for easily correcting or cropping a single image before sharing. The options shared in the screenshots have the same options as one would expect, including the ability to crop the image. However, it also includes an “Enhance” button that appears to work in the same way as the enhanced effects in the main app's editing options. When you are done editing, you can share the image by pressing the option at the bottom right of the screen.
This is not the only change to the way Google Photos shares images. Recently we heard about changes to Google Photos that will allow users to share their images with other people, including their friends, family, and friends. Not only that, but Google is working to give you more control over how often you see individuals in your Google Memory. This means much more control than simply deleting someone altogether.
According to the report, this feature appeared on Alex's Pixel 6 Pro running version 7.10.0 of the Google Photos app. However, there do not seem to be any other reports of this feature appearing, so it may be a bug. For the time being, we will have to wait and see what happens over the next few days.
