According to the latest rumors, Samsung may be working on the Galaxy Z Flip FE. Of course, that comes after leaks suggesting the company is not working on a handset. It's hard to say for sure if a more affordable Flip is in the cards.
The latest rumor was spotted by 9To5Google and comes from Korean language site Naver's Lanzuk. The rumor claims that Samsung is working to bring the Galaxy Z Flip FE to market in 2025, but does not narrow down when we will see that phone next year. According to this leak, “no timeline has been set yet,” so we'll have to wait until the launch window that Samsung is working on gets closer to find out more.
That is, of course, if this rumor is accurate and the phone launches at all. Logically, it makes sense - Samsung has many FE versions of its phones; the FE versions of the S series phones have brought many of the best features into an affordable package, and we've even heard heavy rumors that the Galaxy Z Fold FE is coming.
Naver is not the only leaker; on October 31, Jukanlosreve, a leaker with a fairly strong track record, posted a similar rumor on X. Like the leak from Naver, the exact release date has not been confirmed, but the phone is coming, he claims. The report also mentions the Galaxy S25 Slim, which could go head-to-head with the iPhone 17 Slim.
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 6 is already the company's least expensive foldable phone, but an FE that backs off some features to lower the price could attract a whole new audience to the foldable space. Or it may fail. The only way to find out is for Samsung to release this phone and go head-to-head with the cheaper Moto Razr.
