Google seems to be planning a major update to the Pixel Screenshot app, which includes the familiar Google Photo gestures.
In a recent APK Android authorities have discovered a major update coming for the Pixel Screenshot app. This update includes some UI changes, as well as selecting multiple screenshots, editing collections, and adding images from other apps.
First, Google is testing a new UI to make all the screenshots easier to see. In the current version, the user can see all the screenshots by pressing the arrows on the home page. The new version replaces this with a layout option that allows you to access all the screenshots from the home page. Another UI change found will easily be much faster than the current method, and support for long tap and drag gestures to select multiple images
Google is also working on 2 new shortcuts called Gallery and Camera. These shortcuts reportedly allow users to quickly add images to the screenshot app from the app drawer on their phones, or from the home screen, which has been improved due to the recent decline in functionality. While these shortcuts are present in current apps, Google is looking to make them more prominent by allowing access from the app icon on the home page.
Google is trying to make it easier to get multiple images from other apps and add them to the Pixel Screenshot app using an Android system share sheet. Finally, according to information found in the current version of the app, Google will tell users to interact with emails and phone numbers found in screenshots and add them to contacts.
These changes will help make Google Screenshots (already one of Pixel's best AI features) a much more useful app in future updates. We will be happy to help you. As an aside, with so many models enjoying discounted prices, Black Friday in particular has become the best time to get a Pixel phone on the horizon.
