More than 600,000 GoveeLife and Govee smart electric space heaters have been recalled for fire reports and at least 1 burn. The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which notified Amazon that the product "may not meet current mandatory voluntary safety standards.""

The recall follows reports of at least 7 overheating, including at least 113 fires.

The recalled heaters were sold between 2021/9 and 2024/9 in the U.S. about 512,500 units were sold, and in Canada a further 48,000 units were typically sold on Amazon and TikTok.

According to CPSC, at least 7 different models have been recalled from Govee, with model numbers H7130, H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134, and H7135. Some are labeled as coming from Govee, while others feature GoveeLife printed on the unit. The size of the model ranges from 9 inches high to 26 inches high, and the cost is fromド30 to1150. 

According to the CPSC, if you own any of these space heaters, immediately "recall stop using the electric space heater, unplug the Bran Electric space heater for a refund, disconnect the power cord and remove the image of the destroyed electric space heater, the bottom of the unit or the bottom of the unit." Send the manufacturer's label on the side, and SN code to GoveeLife or Govee."If you give someone a heater that could be affected, we recommend telling them to contact Govee.
