To cut the noise, I head to Netflix's Top 10 movies list to see what everyone's buzzing about. But as they are not guaranteed to be all winners, it is only part of the puzzle. That's where we come in: We've rounded up the best of the best on Netflix's Top 10 list to let you know which movies are actually worth the hype.

Netflix has recorded a winning streak of great original movies this year, many of them in the Top 10. This week, Netflix's tense new thriller "Don't Move" has been outnumbered by this year's streamer's first festive offer and a controversial documentary about one of the most famous American faces on TV, but it continues to rank at the top.1

With Halloween just behind us, people are already craving some yuletide cheer, evidently by the fact that "Meet Me Next Christmas," shot to #1 on this week's Top 10 list.

This new Christmas rom-com stars Christina Milian as a desperate romantic on a mission: To get tickets to a sold out Pentatonics Christmas Eve concert to reconnect with her dream man, the dashing James (Kofi Siriboe). Her quest sends her zigzag across the Big Apple with an unlikely ally on her side, professional concierge Teddy (Devale Ellis). But as Leila gets closer to her goal, she begins to wonder if this guy can really be the person she was looking for.

Netflix is no stranger to controversial releases, and its latest documentary is no different. "Martha" shows Martha Stewart, one of America's best・known figures, in pure white.1

R.J.Directed by Cutler ("Elton John: Never Too Late," "Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry"), the documentary tracks her career and enduring cultural relevance, first as a model and later as a taste-maker, before landing in jail over an insider trading scandal. It includes interviews with both Stewart herself and some from her inner circle, as well as her private archive of never-before-seen footage, diaries and letters. So where does the controversy come from? Well, "Martha" has gotten some harsh words from the time woman herself, who has criticized the documentary for being "a little lazy" and spending "too much time" on her prison sentence.

The premise of "motionless" was enough to hook me up: A grieving mother (Kelsey Asbille) sets out on a hike to find peace of mind in nature, but falls prey to nightmare scenarios instead. A friendly-looking stranger at first (Finn Whitlock) turns her on, injecting her with a paralytic agent that gives her precious few minutes before her entire body shuts down and she is immobile.

She desperately tries to escape the torturer, but it's easier than when the only thing you can move is your eyes. My colleague Rory Mellon called "Don't Move" one of the most intense films of the year 1. This claw-biting thriller is packed with twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat.
