Late summer and early fall tend to bring the best new smartwatch models We just got our first look at the updated Google Pixel Watch 3 and just finished reviewing the equally impressive Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 But Apple, Garmin, and other brands have yet to announce their latest models

With Garmin's most recent model likely weeks away, early images of the upcoming device have been leaked by German tech site WinFuture These images give a first look at the Garmin Fenix 8 sports watch, the high-end Garmin Enduro 3, and a possible new model that could replace the affordable Fenix 8 Here is what they have to say

The Garmin Fenix 8 is one of the most eagerly awaited, rugged, adventure-friendly smartwatch models of 2024; a direct competitor to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the new Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra; and a direct replacement for the Garmin Enduro 3 and the affordable Garmin Fenix 8, AMOLED screen is its most significant improvement, all signs point to it However, there are still many unknowns

Previously, the Garmin Fenix used a MiP (memory-in-pixel) display that consumed less battery power but was difficult to see in bright sunlight By comparison, AMOLED screens tend to be brighter, have faster refresh rates, wider color ranges, and higher color saturation

The Fenix 8 may also offer greater storage capacity than its predecessor to support offline maps, among other improvements

Leaked images also reveal an entirely new device joining the Garmin Fenix 8 and Enduro 3 (which we will touch on below) Industry experts expect the new model to be a more affordable alternative to the Fenix 8 with all the latest features, except for the upgraded AMOLED screen

Given that the cheapest Fenix 7 model currently starts at $649, it will be interesting to see if this more wallet-friendly Fenix 8 model (possibly called the Fenix E) will be priced below that Rumor has it that it will be available only in 47mm with a MiPs screen, but pricing details are not yet available

The third and final device in the recently leaked Garmin product photos appears to be the next-generation Garmin Enduro As with other upcoming models, specific details are scarce Nevertheless, we will update this article as information becomes available
