If rumors are to be believed, Samsung's next-generation foldable will be announced within a month But if you were expecting big changes to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, there is some rather disappointing news Several newly leaked specs do not paint a particularly positive picture of the phone's upgrades
The information comes from SmartPrix, and the screenshots seem to reveal all of the major specs for the upcoming foldable Unfortunately, we don't see any major hardware upgrades, and instead we will likely see another year of incremental hardware upgrades
So what should we expect from Z Fold 6? According to leaks, it could feature a 62-inch cover display with a 22:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,376 x 968 While the size is the same, the aspect ratio and resolution seem to support a design change this year, offering a wider cover display like the Google Pixel Fold
The internal screen is said to be 76" with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, a 4:3:4 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 2160 x 1856 Hardware-wise, it has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with an Adreno 750 GPU, 12GB of RAM, a 4,400mAh battery, and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options The battery is the same as last year's, but expect a little longer life due to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's improved efficiency
The camera is similar According to leaks, the Z Fold 6 will have a 50MP (f/18) main camera with a 12MP (f/22) ultra-wide angle lens and a 10MP (f/24) telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom In addition, there is a 10MP (f/22) selfie camera on the cover screen and a 4MP (f/18) camera hidden under the internal display
This is the same hardware setup as last year, which is disappointing to say the least A glimmer of hope is the ability to shoot 4K, 120 fps or Full HD, 240 fps slow motion video We may also see software upgrades to camera image quality and implementation of Galaxy AI features However, those expecting serious camera hardware improvements are likely to be very disappointed
Another potential advantage is that the phone weighs 239 grams (84 oz), 14 grams (05 oz) lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 5 The reason for this is not entirely clear, but there are rumors that the Z Fold 6 will feature a titanium metal frame If so, this would certainly reduce the weight and, combined with the new design, may make the foldable more comfortable to use
Samsung has not confirmed these specs, of course, so we'll have to wait a bit longer to learn exactly what the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and its flipable counterpart the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will offer Thankfully, the next Galaxy Unpacked event is rumored to take place on July 10
