One of my most anticipated PS5 games of the year just got a free demo — here's how to play now

I'm doing a real kick recently I recently completed Dark Souls for the first time and am playing Lords of The Fallen to kill time until Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree launches next month So, of course, the game of Thrones on the horizon has my attention

This includes Black Myth: WuKong (scheduled for 8/20) and Enotria: The Last Song (scheduled for 9/19), but it was the latter that caught my interest I'm especially advertised for Enotria: the last song for two reasons Partly because of its unique (for soul-like genres) settings, but mostly because of the free demos on the PlayStation Store and Steam

This is also not a small slice of the game According to IGN, the demo will be about 8 hours long, but this is almost certainly a significant part of the full game In this demo, players will have access to "4 different weapon classes, each with a variety of unique weapons and 6 unique masks, devastating new"

If you've never heard of Enotria: The Last Song, it's an action RPG inspired by the work of FromSoftware (developer Darth Vader), who is the creator of Enotria: The Last Song, the last song of Enotria: The Last Song of Enotria: The Last Song of Enotria: The Last Song of Enotria: The Last Song of Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: Enotria: The Last song of Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Enotria: Hell, Bloodborne and Elden Ring) But what sets this game apart from its contemporaries is a vibrant setting While most Soullike is set in a grim Gothic world full of dark caves and dark swamps, the Enotrian world is instead inspired by Italian folklore and the endless summer

Developer Jyamma Games describes the game as a "summer soul" and loves the idea of a challenging soul experience in a sun-drenched environment But just because the world is bright and vibrant does not mean that it will not be filled with fierce enemies that can destroy you in just a moment It's still a soul-like game and promises players a tough test

Enotria is also trying to innovate the genre with a swappable loadout that gives players the freedom to switch tactics on the fly For example, instead of being forced to choose between melee and magic attacks, you can build a character with both abilities And you will need various load-outs to overcome many terrible bosses of the game

For several years Soulslike has struggled to capture the magic of From's work, but the tide has turned recently Last year's P Lie was my game of the year and matched from several key areas I expect Enotria: The Last Song to have similar success

Enotria: The last song is set to launch in 2024/9/19 on PS5 and PC
