Netflix has just announced a major deal with the NFL - here's the exclusive game for this season

Football fans should fork out for another streaming service this season if they want to watch every NFL game, Netflix has just announced

the world's most popular streamer will be the exclusive home of the NFL's Christmas Day Double Header today (5/15) It was a great experience Put simply, on 12/25 (Wed), Netflix will be the only platform to broadcast 2 NFL games live and provide access to these games If you want to watch these Yuletide games, you need a Netflix account

The deal does not indicate that the NFL and Netflix have partnered for the first time — they have worked together on original documentaries in the past — but it will be the first time Netflix will offer subscribers access to live NFL games, a landmark agreement between the biggest names in streaming and the biggest names in professional sports (At least in the United States)

In the announcement, Bela Bajaria, Netflix's chief Content Officer, said, "Last year we decided to make a big bet on leveraging large-scale fandoms such as comedy, reality TV and sports live There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, compared with the audience that nfl football attracts We're so excited that the NFL Christmas Day game will only be on Netflix

Hans Schroeder, Executive Vice President of Media Distribution at the NFL, said, "We couldn't be more excited about being the first professional sports league to partner with Netflix to bring live games to fans around the world Christmas NFL has become a tradition, and partnering with Netflix, where the biggest day of the year is usually this holiday, is the perfect combination for NFL fans to grow the event globally"

The 2 teams involved in these 4 Netflix streaming matches revealed today at 8pm ET/5pm PT when the NFL fully confirms the 2024 schedule I just hope my Los Angeles chargers are not involved, as they see them lose (as usual)"

Netflix is not the first streaming service to get exclusive access to a set of NFL games this season The league's broadcast strategy has become increasingly fragmented, and avid fans want to watch every game, but they have no choice but to pay for multiple services

For the 2024-25 season, alongside Netflix's exclusive Christmas Double Bill, Amazon Prime Video has already been confirmed to carry Thursday night football, Black Friday games and wild card playoff games Peacock airs Packers vs The Brazilian Eagles during the first week, and ESPN Plus will have exclusive rights to the international game

This is a four-streaming service that does not include NFL Sunday tickets via YouTube TV, a must if football fans want to watch every play possible this season, so it's exciting to see Netflix still making the biggest leap into streaming live sports But there is a bit of frustration that the cost for the most passionate football fans could increase
