Hello Strand fans! I found today's puzzle very tricky At first the theme seemed too vague Artists, paintings, or the mechanics of creation? - But even after I understood the spangram, I still felt the theme was too big After all, the Oscars have been going on for almost 100 years now, and my film knowledge is not that great
Still, I made it through without getting two clues The first clue was "Crash," which won Best Picture in 2006 Shortly after, I got "ROCKY" (winner in 1977), which I knew was about a film, but I needed yet another clue to get my next clue: PARASITE (2020, Best Picture)
From there, I was able to complete the full spangram as I realized it was not only a movie, but an OSCARWINNERS (earlier I saw the word 'rights' and wondered if it would be a book turned into a movie?)
There were still two left, but thankfully these were practically spelled out for me; GLADIATOR (2001) was an easy one right up there, but SPOTLIGHT (2016) still needed a little deciphering (I haven't seen it yet)
