Google has revealed some of the key specs of the Samsung Galaxy A35 in a recent Google Play Console listing (via Retail News Asia) These specs show how Samsung's affordable smartphone compares to the Galaxy S24, and that the difference between the two could be marginal
According to the listing, the Galaxy A35 will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 1380 processor, the same one found in the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy Active 5 rugged tablets This chip could not even keep up with the Tensor G1 chip in the 2021 Google Pixel 6, so it is not surprising that it is considerably less powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 in the Galaxy S24 series
The Galaxy A35 also appears to have at least 6GB of RAM (less than the Galaxy S24) and a 2340 x 1080 resolution display (same as the S24) The Galaxy A35 is also listed as running Android 14, which seems to mean that it will at least have Samsung's own One UI 6 Android skin
For the most part, these confirmed specs are identical to the leaked details we saw earlier this month The leak also has a rendering of the phone that confirms the new "key island" design change - a raised area on the side rail that houses the power and volume buttons We can also see the flat screen that Samsung is including on all Galaxy S24 models, as well as the cutout for the center camera
What the leaked information unfortunately does not confirm is the Galaxy A35's camera system Looking at Samsung's past mid-rangers, it is reasonable to assume that we will see similar specs (50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, 32MP front-facing) to those rumored for the Galaxy A55 As for software smarts, we can only hope that at least some of the Galaxy AI features of the Galaxy S24 series will migrate over
No release date has been confirmed, but there are indications that Samsung may make an official announcement soon: the Galaxy A35 has reportedly been posted on the NBTC and Indian BIS certification sites, which suggests that the company is close to an announcement, and the Galaxy A55 will probably be announced at the same time Galaxy A55 will probably be announced at the same time
Looking at the details of both models now, it seems like a good deal if Samsung is keeping the price down Once the prices of both models are known and we have a chance to review them, we will have a clearer answer as to whether both the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 are worth the time and money
