A social media account under Samsung's umbrella suggests that the mid-range phone's release date is just around the corner If the newly posted photos are accurate, we won't have to wait until then to take a closer look at the Galaxy A55
As spotted by Sammobile, a leaker on social media site X posted a photo of what appears to be an actual Galaxy A55 The photo shows the lime-colored handset, the successor to the Galaxy A54; the Galaxy A55 features a Key Island design, with the power and volume buttons on top of the frame The handset also appears to have three rear-facing cameras, one stacked on top of the other
Don't think that that third lens means that a telephoto camera will be on Samsung's mid-range handset; the Galaxy A54 also had a triple camera array, with a dedicated macro lens joining the main camera and ultra-wide camera We expect the Galaxy A55 to follow suit, especially since this model tends to cost less than $500
Samsung has not said much about its plans for the Galaxy A55 so far, but earlier this week the company's India division teased the upcoming release of both the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 to X Subsequently, the registration page on Samsung India's website states that the Galaxy A will be launched next Monday (March 11)
Several rumors have filled in the blanks about what to expect from the Galaxy A55, with the latest rumor posted on Reddit stating that it will feature a 1,650-nit brightness display Incidentally, the Galaxy S24 flagship has a brightness of 2,600 nits The same Reddit post also reports that the A55's screen will feature Gorilla Glass Victus Plus
Other rumored specs include an Exynos 1480 chipset with 8GB of RAM and a 65-inch display We also hear that the main camera will feature a 50MP sensor, which matches one of the Galaxy A54's key features
This model gave Google's Pixel 7a all it could handle in its battle to be the best budget phone under $500, and it will be interesting to see how the Galaxy A55 fares when it actually debuts
