The rumored new iPad Pro 2024 (hey, it's definitely going to happen at this point) looks like it could be released by the end of the month with significant upgrades As an admirer of display technology, the persistent reports that the new Pro will be the first to feature an OLED screen is a very exciting prospect in my obsessive eyes However, there is likely to be some bad news regarding the latest 11-inch iPad Pro
Analyst Ross Young said in a post for X's paid subscribers that production of the new smaller iPad Pro 2024 "appears to be running behind" the 129-inch version (Thanks, 9to5Mac) Potential impact on those clamoring for an 11-inch tablet? Supply issues may make it difficult to get one at launch
A factor that may be causing these potential problems is the fact that two different manufacturers are working together to produce the latest iPad Pro Samsung Display is reportedly currently manufacturing OLED screens for the smaller of the new tablets, while LG Display may also begin working together to produce panels for the 11-inch at some point before the rumored late March or early April launch
As for the new 129-inch iPad Pro, it appears that LG Display is already producing OLED panels for the tablet that I, as an iPad Pro 2021 (129-inch) owner, am incredibly excited about Its mini LED screen certainly produces convincing black levels But let's be honest, an OLED is an OLED When it comes to effortlessly producing jet blacks, nothing beats OLEDs, the king of screen technology
Hopefully the production problems Samsung Display is reportedly having with the 11-inch iPad Pro won't last long, and with LG Display jumping in to help with manufacturing, hopefully the supply problems won't last long
Meanwhile, there is still much for fans of Apple's legendary tablet series to be excited about ahead of the iPad Pro 2024, which is rumored to be released within the next month Not only is it likely to feature the third-generation Apple Pencil, but it also appears to be equipped with the Apple M3 chip, which should provide a significant improvement in performance and battery life over the M2-powered iPad Pro 2022
A new 2TB storage option may also be on the horizon (perhaps at a hefty premium), and the latest Pro may move the FaceTime camera from the top of the device to the side, making video calls more natural when the tablet is placed in landscape orientation This could be a great addition And if these additions are not enough, there is talk of a redesigned Magic Keyboard with an upgraded aluminum finish to look more like the MacBook Pro M3
Apple fans, let's stay upbeat here and now Let's hope that the rumored production issues with the new 11-inch iPad Pro are short-lived and that we will soon be able to enjoy the device that is becoming a truly phenomenal OLED tablet
