Motorola's next flagship phone, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, will be unveiled in India on April 3 and will include a host of amazing features
Note that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is expected to be named differently in different regions For example, in the United States, it will likely be called the Motorola Edge Plus (2024), and in China, it is expected to be called the Motorola X50 Ultra Currently, there is no mention of a release date for these devices
According to teasers on Indian e-commerce site Flipkart and Motorola's X, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will have new AI features, including an AI wallpaper generator So far, this feature is very similar to the AI wallpaper generator on the Galaxy S24 and Pixel 8 and is expected to work in the same way
Motorola also announced two features and is quite focused on using AI to improve its cameras
The first is called "AI Enhanced Images" and promises to improve the quality of images captured by the phone
The second, called "AI Adaptive Stabilization," reportedly provides shake-free output and offers customers the best clarity while using a 50x hybrid zoom
On the hardware side, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will feature a 67-inch pOLED 15K display with a refresh rate of 144Hz This same screen claims to be the world's first Pantone certified screen with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits
Pantone-validated may not be a term many have heard of, as it refers to a method used by artists, manufacturers, and printers to easily select and match colors When it comes to the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, it means that the colors on the screen or in a captured image are faithfully reproduced
When it comes to the camera, there is not much official information available However, Motorola has confirmed that the Pantone Certified triple rear camera setup will include a 50MP main camera Outside of the official announcement, a leak from well-known tipster Abhishek Yadav suggests that there will also be a 13MP ultrawide camera on the back
Motorola would need a powerful chip to power all of this, and it was initially suspected that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro would feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 However, Motorola recently confirmed on Weibo that the X50 Ultra will use the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip instead It has not been confirmed whether this will apply to all models or whether it is specific to Chinese models
The global release date and price of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro are not known However, given that the Motorola Edge 40 Pro had a retail price of $800 at launch, it is expected to be quite expensive For now, we'll keep our eyes open and update this article with any news on potential costs and release dates
