Sony has officially announced the new Pulse Explore earbuds for PlayStation 5, PS5 Slim, and PlayStation Portal Inspired by the original Pulse 3D headset for PS5, these wireless earbuds are white earbuds with various audio enhancements for playing Modern Warfare 3
Like its over-the-ear predecessor, the Pulse Explore supports 3D audio and delivers phenomenal sound quality specifically for games with 3D audio, such as the Demon's Souls remake
So where can you get one? In stock are the following
The Pulse Explore earphones will officially launch on December 6, with a base MSRP of $199/£199 Interested parties can find them for sale at various retailers in the US, including Sony's official website, Best Buy, and Amazon
Sony is not known for its amazing audio products, such as the InZone Buds, which were released this past November In February 2024, Sony plans to introduce the Pulse Elite, an upgraded version of the original Pulse headset
That said, if you desperately need high-quality sound but don't want to spend $200 on earbuds, the original Pulse 3D headset is a worthy alternative and is currently only $99
So what makes Sony's custom-made gaming earphones different? Inside the earphones are a pair of planar magnetic drivers that can reproduce a variety of sounds with studio-quality accuracy, whether you are gaming or experiencing other forms of entertainment Sony claims on the official Pulse Explore earphones webpage that these drivers have "near-perfect accuracy along the entire audio spectrum" and equal incredible audio immersion for lossless, ultra-low latency audio
The Pulse Explore earphones also feature AI-enhanced noise reduction, not to be confused with active noise cancellation Sony's noise-rejection technology only allows for reactive measures of bads that limit unwanted sounds while the wearer is talking In other words, you won't have to repeat yourself in a rapid fire fight - unless, of course, your friends aren't paying attention
Other features that set the Pulse Explore earbuds apart include a clean, invisible microphone seamlessly integrated into each bud's design, intuitive controls for volume and mute, multi-device connectivity, and seamless PlayStation Link These are just a few examples
As expected, the earbuds are made for Sony and (more specifically) PlayStation devices The earbuds feature a special PlayStation integration feature called PlayStation Link, which allows the earbuds to easily connect and switch between the PS5 console and the PS Portal, as well as alternative devices such as PCs and Macs It comes in a small white charging case and has a base battery life of 5 hours, allowing up to 10 hours of play time
Tom's Guide currently has a review sample of these earbuds available
