One of the best fitness trackers has a new feature that is especially useful for forgetful types New and existing Fitbit Inspire 2 users can now use Tile's Bluetooth tracking feature to locate their activity tracker A software update supporting this new feature will be distributed starting Monday (March 22)
The Fitbit Inspire 2 is one of the best fitness trackers available, but its relatively small device makes it easy to misplace Tile tracking support can be enabled to see where you were last seen, even if you are miles away
The Fitbit Inspire 2 can also ping your smartphone via Tile support, even if your phone is in silent mode To enable this feature, update the activity band software in the Fitbit app and download the Tile app if it is not already installed on your device
In the Tile app, you have the option to enable "Smart Alerts" to notify you that you are leaving home without your Fitbit However, Smart Alerts require a $299/month Tile Premium subscription
Fitbit's Tile integration is only available to Inspire 2 users at this time This means that Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa 3 users should do their best not to lose their smartwatches for the time being
The upgrade comes ahead of the rumored launch of Apple AirTags Apple will hold an event in April, where it is believed that the long-awaited Key Finder will finally be unveiled So it seems that Tile, which manufactures some of the best keyfinders available, is looking for ways to maintain its dominance in the Bluetooth tracking market
Tile has already partnered with Fitbit's parent company, Google, to allow Tile trackers to ping through Google Assistant-enabled devices like the best Google Home speakers
If Tile's support makes a compelling case for getting the Inspire 2, check out the great Fitbit deals now
