The new LG Soundbar gets special features when used with LG OLED TVs

LG may have shut down its cell phone business, but the company is preparing a variety of home theater technologies, including a new soundbar, numerous OLEDs, OLED Evo, and QNED with Mini LED TVs The company has now revealed some clever tricks that can be used to pair its upcoming soundbars with TVs scheduled for release in 2021

LG's soundbar will work with the AI Sound Pro feature of the company's new TVs, sharing audio processing between both devices The soundbar also shares the TV's sound mode to increase consistency when the user needs to switch between the TV and soundbar speakers

AI Sound Pro integration seems more convenient, using a system called "TV Sound Mode Share," which uses the TV's superior audio processing capabilities while the richer sounding soundbar driver (and subwoofer, if equipped) is intended to provide the best of both worlds by outputting processed sound

Like recent LG soundbars like the LG SK10Y and SL8Y, the company's 2021 soundbar will also include Meridian Audio tuning This technology converts two-channel stereo sound into multi-channel audio and can improve the performance of surround sound setups

Even if you don't match the new soundbar to your LG TV, it is still a relatively feature-rich home speaker All models, from the flagship 714-channel SP11RA to the 312-channel SPD7Y, support HI-Res Audio, so they can play lossless 24-bit/96 kHz music at full quality Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are also supported on all models, and an HDMI eARC port is standard

LG remains tight-lipped about the exact pricing and availability of these soundbars, but the first batch of these soundbars, including the SP11RA, will be available in the US and Europe later this month
