"Call of Duty: Warzone" is officially coming to an end, with Activision teasing an impending nuke of the Verdansk map
The event is by no means a surprise, the new map has already been leaked, but a date was provided by the publisher: April 21
The date for the map revamp was supposed to be April 21 or April 22, based on the end of Warzone Season 2 The official Call of Duty Twitter account has now confirmed the date and time of the apocalyptic event: April 21, 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST
Just a couple of weeks ago, a video of the new map was leaked, showing a redecoration of 1980s Verdansk With this update, the Warzone map will be more in line with Black Ops, with healthy missiles transforming the landscape
We have already witnessed missiles flying overhead and crashing into the ground, but so far there has been zero impact on the terrain We don't know if someone behind the scenes pulled the trigger early or if it was just a legitimate tease, but there is no doubt that the end is near
Activision has not officially released details of the changes being made to the map, but the desperate attempts at damage control following the map leak speak for themselves The company has been spitting out Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) strikes against leakers on Twitter and against gaming journalists and websites reporting the news This is not the first time Activision has added fuel to the fire by leaking information; it did the same thing last year when an update was leaked ahead of the official announcement
Activision has only been able to confirm the legitimacy of the leak by waving the DMCA around, but they won't have to wait long for that to happen Keep an eye on the weather next week in Verdansk for a nuclear weapons event We are confident it will be explosive and revealing
