Google Pixel Buds a has just been leaked by Google — here's your first look

Android's official Twitter account accidentally leaked the rumored Pixel Buds A

The news came from Gizmodo, which was able to capture a screenshot of the tweet before it was deleted; not many details about the Pixel Buds A were mentioned other than a photo and a small introductory note

As the screenshots show, the Pixel Buds A will offer a design very similar to the current Pixel Buds 2 Google also touts the earbuds' fast pairing capabilities

This is not the first time the Pixel Buds A has appeared on the Internet; in March, sources familiar with the project apparently leaked many details about the Pixel Buds A to 9to5Google

The report noted that Google would not choose to name its next earphones "Pixel Buds 3" and would instead use the "A" name The report also stated that the design is "visually almost indistinguishable" from the Pixel Buds 2, as confirmed by the above tweet The report states that they will be available in two colors: all white and a dark "forest green"

The reason for the shift from 3 to A is not entirely clear However, if this naming scheme follows the pattern of Pixel phones, the upcoming Pixel Buds A should be a more affordable option than the Pixel Buds 2 Currently, the Pixel Buds 2 is priced at $180 Google recently sold the Buds 2 for $130, presumably to clear out inventory In any case, the sale has ended

If the Pixel Buds A goes on sale for $130, the new earbuds will be about $20 to $30 less than competitors like the Jabra Elite Active 75t and Apple AirPods

It is not certain when Google will officially unveil the Pixel Buds A, but it is likely to be announced at Google I/O 2021, which will take place between May 18 and 20
