Apple's iPad Pro 2021 is quite the heavyweight when it comes to tablets However, this new tablet may not be the only highlight to hit the market this year
Xiaomi, which has long been dormant in the tablet field, appears to be about to send out a serious competitor
Xiaomi has not made a new tablet since 2018, but according to XDA Developers, that may change; the latest version of Xiaomi's MIUI software includes three devices codenamed "enuma," "nabu," and "elish" It includes three devices
There is also a tablet-like interface configuration arrangement within MIUI that shows how the home screen changes when the product in question is in tablet mode However, despite their inclusion, it is not clear whether these three particular items are actually tablets or foldable
Still, rumors that Xiaomi is working on a new tablet have been circulating for some time; in March, a user posted specs for a Xiaomi tablet on Weibo The listing promised a tablet with a Snapdragon 870 processor and a 1095-inch screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate
As for the "enuma" devices spotted by XDA, they appear to support voice calls and possibly offer both cellular 4G LTE or 5G However, all of the devices appear to have IPS LCD screens with 2560 x 1600 resolution The "nabu" device in particular may have a 1097" display, but it seems likely that all three will support a 120 Hz refresh rate, as suggested in earlier rumors
Of course, Xiaomi has remained silent on the matter, and no official announcement has yet been made, but company executives have suggested in the past that Xiaomi is considering re-entering the tablet business This latest news seems to suggest that the move is closer than ever, and that the iPad Pro 2021 could soon be getting a mate
