Samsung Calls iPhone12 a "downgrade" - you Will be a Judge

Samsung and Apple have released their latest flagship phones in a matter of months That's because Samsung is trying to end this conversation with its new Galaxy S21 vs iPhone 12 ad

The company's US division has rolled out two videos that name-drop the iPhone 12's camera capabilities Samsung has no hesitation in flaunting the specs of its flagship smartphone and is not afraid to step on the toes of its competition to do so

The campaign's cheeky tagline, "Don't let your phone upgrade be a downgrade," strongly conveys the message that the Galaxy S21 is a step above the iPhone 12

Apple's latest iPhone is solid enough, but lags behind the Galaxy S21 in several areas For example, Samsung's Galaxy S21 series offers an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz versus the iPhone 12's paltry 60 Hz iPhone 13 Pro series is expected to feature a 120 Hz ProMotion display

When it comes to cameras, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 108MP lens on the back and can take incredibly impressive photos as seen in the ads iPhone 12 has a 12MP shooter, but resolution is only one aspect of image quality

Additionally, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a powerful zoom camera with 10x optical zoom and 120x space zoom (digital) iPhone 12 Pro Max has 25x optical zoom and up to 12x digital zoom

This means that whether it's a humble grilled cheese sandwich or something a little more ambitious, like the moon, you should get great results It is worth mentioning, however, that we saw the Galaxy S21's camera struggle at times For example, portraits can sometimes appear washed out, especially in bright sunlight

Reactions to the ads vary, with some comments lapping up the shade being thrown in Apple's direction, while others find it all a bit desperate and cringeworthy

This is not the first time Samsung has attacked Apple When the US tech giant discontinued its charger from the box, Samsung wasted no time in poking fun at the move The taunts were a bit pre-emptive, as the Korean firm followed suit shortly after, embarrassing the whole thing

We don't imagine this will be the last time we see companies making fun of each other to push their products instead of letting the specs themselves speak for themselves In the meantime, check out our Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs iPhone 12 Pro Mas Showdown and Samsung Galaxy S21 vs iPhone 12 Comparison to see which phone is preferred based on our tests
