We've heard quite a bit about Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, which are rumored to arrive on August 11 But what if a third foldable will also be shown at the next Unpacked?
Well, a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 could apparently be on the way At least according to industry sources at the Korea Herald, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite could appear along with other foldable phones
Apparently, this "Lite" foldable will be a "more affordable mass-market model," but the Korea Herald does not mention specifics about what else this phone will include While this rumor is still unconfirmed, the launch of the Z Flip 3 Lite shows that Samsung is well aware of the biggest drawback of foldable phones: price
Another report earlier this week stated that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be priced at $1,249, which is $200 less than the Galaxy Z Flip 5G launch price, but still expensive Samsung's Galaxy S21 Ultra starts at $1,199, with the 256GB model at $1,249
Unfortunately, there have been rumors of a "Lite" version of Samsung's foldable phone for some time now In fact, the rumor has existed for almost as long as Samsung has been selling phones Some have even heralded a Galaxy Fold FE that has yet to materialize
It makes sense that Samsung would try to attract more people into the world of foldables at a lower price However, there is a difference between a rumor making sense and it actually coming true We will just have to wait and see what happens with this rumor And we can only hope that this rumor does not die, as many of the "affordable" fodable claims that preceded this rumor did
The latest word is that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be announced at an Unpacked event on August 11
No official specs have been confirmed, but the clamshell design is sure to make a comeback There are also reports that it will feature a number of upgrades, including a screen with 120 Hz refresh rate support, a dual-lens rear camera, and a larger exterior cover display
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, like the Galaxy S21 Ultra earlier this year, will reportedly feature many of the same features as well as S Pen stylus support
Thankfully, it looks like we won't have to wait long to see these phones for ourselves; as for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite, fingers crossed that this is one of those rumors that will actually prove to be accurate
