Thought you knew the release date of the Google Pixel 6? Think again!
Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech, citing his own sources, claims that the Pixel 6 series will be available for pre-order on October 19, with a retail launch on October 28 This is more than a month later than September according to another leaked source
Prosser's leak did not reveal a release date, but he said the Pixel 6's full debut could be the same day as pre-orders begin
Prosser appears to have been moved to leak this information based on another recent leak that claimed the Pixel 6 would appear on September 13 and beat the iPhone 13 Even if the changes to the Pixel 6 are exciting, trying to compete for attention with Apple seemed like a bold move As such, this new date seems more sensible
The October release date also better aligns with Google's past flagship Pixel release dates: the Google Pixel 5 came out on October 15 last year, the Pixel 4 series on October 22, and all other Pixel phones (except the a series models) in mid-October The Pixel 4 series appeared on October 22
However, official details may be announced before then Google has already surprised us with a fairly detailed breakdown of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro's new features, including a Tensor chipset, more and better cameras, a larger display, and a refreshed design with new color options We also heard that the Pixel 6 may feature a fingerprint sensor under the display and more powerful wireless charging, but may not ship with a charger
