A home Wi-Fi router that can be a conversation piece has arrived Announced today at CES 2022, the TP-Link Archer AXE200 Omni features four rounded antennas that automatically move to provide the best connection to devices
The Archer AXE200 Omni is one of the few routers that uses the all-new Wi-Fi 6e technology, which adds another band of radio frequencies to the existing 24GHz and 5GHz bands, so connections can also be significantly faster This new band covers the vast unused frequency range of 6-7 GHz with little interference
According to TP-Link, the Archer AXE200 Omni can provide wireless throughput of over 10 Gbps when all four antennas and all three bands are pointed at the same device [The Archer AXE200 Omni also has very high wired speeds, with a 25Gpbs port and four 1Gbps ports, plus a 10Gbps Ethernet port; TP-Link says this fast Ethernet is most useful with 8K video streaming and augmented reality/virtual reality devices TP-Link says that this high-speed Ethernet is most useful for 8K video streaming and augmented/virtual reality devices
The Archer AXE200 Omni comes with a free copy of TP-Link's HomeShield security software and parental controls; it is also compatible with TP-Link's mesh routers, so it can be added to existing setups
TP-Link's Mesh routers are also compatible
The TP-Link Archer AXE200 Omni will be available later this year, we're told Q2, but pricing has yet to be determined
